Rare Vintage Mexican Carmen Beckmann (Bekmann) Silver Belt
Carmen Beckmann, one of the most important and best-known of the women designing jewelry in Mexico during the twentieth century, sold her jewelry through her shop in San Miguel de Allende. She was well known for her craftsmanship and the fine quality of her pieces. Today, Beckmann is a favorite of collectors.
This sterling silver belt by Carmen Beckmann is a real beauty! It is a rare 1960s repousse belt made with hollow pieces (not too heavy!). Marked Bekmann Sterling, Mexico (Beckmann’s name was sometimes spelled Bekmann in her registered hallmarks.) and signed at the clasp.
