Sit down with William Spratling: the campeche chair
Recently came across an article published by The Magazine Antiques, The American Campeche chair, which mentioned that William Spratling produced these butaquitos in Taxco. Here is one Spratling Ranchero chair that is offered now at TFTM:

This William Spratling wood and leather chair was sold by Cowan’s auctions in 2007 (photograph: Cowan’s):

SpratlingSilver.com has photographs of and information about several Spratling chairs as well.
Arab Today, a web site about Arab, Alabama (William Spratling was born in Alabama), contains a story about the experiences one of its area residents, writer Ralph Hammond, had with Spratling. It’s a nice anecdote to read if you are interested in Spratling’s life.
