Vintage Mexican silver jewelry photo album online

2009 October 25

Every once in a while it’s fun to visit Erik Yang’s online collection of 304 photographs of vintage Mexican silver jewelry and metalwork. If you don’t know about this collection, you are in for a real treat.

Among the maestros represented in the collection are Hector Aguilar, Antonio Pineda, Sigi Pineda, Matilde Poulat (MATL), Los Ballesteros, Margot de Taxco, Reveriano Castillo, William Spratling, Hubert Harmon, Tane, Fred Davis, Salvador Teran, Enrique Ledesma, and “Ric” Erika Hult de Corral.

The non-jewelry items are as wonderful as the jewelry: Salvador Teran brass and mosaic pieces, silver and rosewood pieces, and mixed or married metals (metales casados) items.

From the clean lines of the modernists to the intricacies of artists like MATL, the collection has lots of eye candy! You can watch it as a slideshow, and you can leave comments as well. Enjoy!
