Vintage Rancho Alegre silver necklace
Pedro Perez once managed William Spratling’s Taller de Las Delicias. He opened Plateria Rancho Alegre in 1956. Rancho Alegre designed, produced and sold its own jewelry but also served as an outlet for other Mexican designers and silversmiths. By the 1960s Rancho Alegre had become one of the largest retailers of Mexican silver, attracting tourists in droves. Sadly, Plateria Rancho Alegre closed in 1985.
The necklace offered by eBay seller rosebud344 (100% positive feedback) features motifs reminiscent of pre-Columbian designs. According to the seller, it measures a bit over 17 inches and weighs 3 full ounces. I think you ought to have a look!
