Vintage Spratling jewelry auction exceeds expectations

In our February 13th post about an auction for a vintage William Spratling silver and hardstone bracelet and ear clip set in a frog design we noted that the lot was expected to realize $300 to $500 at auction on February 21st. That estimate seemed rather low, and it was – the auction realized $1,400. Not surprised!
